James's school photo

Friday, March 02, 2007

Sarah and I went for a walk up to Alexandra Palace on what was the first nice day of the year.

Ally Pally is a wonderful place because it's where the Beeb first stared a 405-line service before the war and when I was at the BBC there were still a few guys who'd worked there.

These panoramas were shot on my 'phone so are of doubtful quality!

Joe's Birthday

We went to our local Miso for Joe's fourteenth birthday. Then back home for a traditional birthday cake.

Photos from the fridge!

Sarah has been taking old pictures down and printing some new ones. Since these are mostly analogue snaps from friends and family they've never made it onto this illustrious blog.

James's Birthday Party
We had a visit from Vic from My Newt Enterprises. He brought snakes, frogs, giant cockroaches, giant snails and stick insects. He does his presentation from an ecological point of view and the children were enthralled for more than an hour (quite a feet with eight year-olds!).
See the pics. Some of them are captured as stills from a DV camera and so aren't great quality. Sarah's Darlek birthday cake was a hit!

Joe & Dan's School Pictures

Friday, December 29, 2006

Daniel has a school project where (amoungst other things) he has to write about sun dials - we went up to St Michael's in Lilleshall to check out the one there - it has the rail timetable below it on a copper plaque.

Christmas in Somerset was very nice - see the boys unwrapping presents and our Christmas meal - the last few were shot on my new PDA - Dan likes doing the panoramic pictures.

Our Christmas round robin newsletter is here.

Daniel and Sarah have been making a Motte and Bailey castle for a school project. After a false start involving paper mache that quickly started to smell it all turned out well.

More fireworks! at the Lord Mayor's Show - we went with our friends Cathy and Simon (and their little girl Edith) and enjoyed hanging out on the north bank of the Thames.

Click here to see our visit to the National Gallery - Sarah was particularly keen to see the Cézanne exhibit. We also saw the folks in the climate change demonstration so the kids not only got to see some our greatest art treasures but also democracy in action!
